THE TAOC CONCEPT
The concept of The Age Of Chaos is inspired by different sources.

The World of Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay has the most heavy influence on The Age Of Chaos Campaign Setting. The dark medieval mood is taken from this world.
The world of the Blizzard Entertainment game series of Warcraft is also an important influence and especially the culture and history of the orcs are inspired by it.
Last but not least has the works of Tolkien inspired me and especially his ability to make fantasy seem real and belivable has lighted my passion for roleplaying.

The site is a sort of a bestiary of the setting, an encyclopedia. The purpose is to council and inspire players and GMs in the creation of characters, scenarios and campaigns.

THE PURPOSE OF TAOC
The purpose of the The Age Of Chaos Campaign World is to create a fantasy roleplaying setting where the story, storytelling and the characters are in focus.

Why choose such a complex roleplaying system? Because Rolemaster grants a realistic feel and most of all depth to the roleplaying. The rules shall obey the interactors, the interactors shall not obey the rules.

So when the rules of Rolemaster works as a surprising and developing mechanism in the game, they become a tool to enhance the experience of playing a role.

The quest of The Age Of Chaos is to create a "realistic" fantasy setting for mature players and GMs. A roleplaying space where in depth characters' personality and background harmonize with skills and stats of the ruleset. A setting where players can relate to and mirror themselves in their characters and the world and story the GM presents to them.
