calendôr[ |

]: n. sindarin, the green realm |
With mountain ranges both in the northern and the southern borders, and their resources, combined with the green fields, Calendôr is one of the richest and wealthiest realms of the known world. But wealth is power and power leads to corruption. And under the surface of this haven, schemes are made by those with power, only making them more powerful. No army will destroy the Grand Army of Calendôr constituted by The Faith and The King. Maybe one, the one from the east. The Horde.

The Social Order of Calendôr
Throughout the green plains of Calendôr villages lie spread, often close. They most of the time center around a town where people trade and pay their taxes. The towns of Calendôr again centers around dusin of cities where the towers of the nobles' castles rise to the blue sky.
The King - Class A
The King is the suprime ruler and lord of Calendôr, and nothing but The Faith is above the King. All men and women in Calendôr are born as vassal of the King, and has to serve him and The Faith right after they leave their mother's whom.
The High Council - Class A
This is the actual goverment of Calendôr. It is made of the twelve overlords (The High Nobility) who rule the twelve over-estates of the kingdom. Also the five high priests of The Faith is represented in this council. In the top of The High Council is The King and he always got the last word. Its here that all national descisions is made, and also from here the greatest of schemes spread.
The Churches of The Faith - Class B
The Calendôrian church is a very powerful political and cultural institution. The five cults are together a counterpart to the nobles in the will to reach power. But as in the noble class, there is always an internal struggle going on.
The High Nobility - Class A
The vassals right under the King is the Rulers of the twelve over-estates of Calendôr. Their job is (1) to gather taxes from all their vassals (The Lesser Nobility) and get it to The King, (2) to present troops for the grand army of Calendôr. They are very rich because they rule their land themselves and thereby they often threat the power and suprimecy of The King. Also they are councilors for The King and therefore are the High Nobility also the best and most cunning schemers, because the most of them deeply desire is to get the throne in Gondethir.
The Lesser Nobility - Class A
These are the vassals of the High Nobility and of course also The King. They control lesser estates which is parts of the twelve over-estates. Their power is the commoners, because it is them who summon soldiers for the army and collects taxes from the simple peasant. They are being exploited by The High Nobility and their frustrations are often taken out on the peasants in their copyholds.
The Commoners - Class C & D
These are the peasants, the traders and merchants, the bottom of the Calendôrian society, but nontheless are they the largest group of people. The peasants copyhold the land of the nobles and provide men for the army, the trader pays a great amount of taxes to the church and the nobles. They are seen as a single greyish mass by the nobles, but are anything else but one mass. They are the poor and hard working peasant and they are the rich merchant of two warehouses in Marienborg. |
